The Courcel 2007 Pommard Rugiens offers a bouquet of white Burgundy, with notes of toasted hazelnut, dark cherry, and moss. On the palate, it reveals a richness akin to liqueur, accompanied by layers of crushed stone, toasted nuts, and smoky, ferrous undertones that add complexity all the way through to a lingering finish. Winemaker Yves Confuron’s steadfast approach to late harvest and long fermentation with whole clusters and stems has yielded fine results in both the 2007 and 2008 vintages. Confuron is confident in the aging potential of his 2007s.
