Hubert de Bouard’s 2000 La Plus de la Fleur de Bouard is a remarkable cuvée, crafted from 80% Merlot along with Cabernet Franc and a touch of Cabernet Sauvignon, exudes richness, intensity, and elegance in equal measure. Regrettably, its limited production means availability is scarce. With a velvety texture and a symphony of flavors including blueberries, coffee, black currants, kirsch, smoke, and licorice, this wine is both powerful and refined. It promises to age gracefully in the cellar, offering an exceptional drinking experience for fortunate enthusiasts.

The Cabernet Sauvignon Seven Hills Vineyard Reserve, displaying a ruby and purple colour, entices with aromas of blackberry, fresh herbs, Asian spice, and raspberry. This wine is intense, concentrated, and velvety textured, offering medium to full-bodied richness. It envelops the palate with flavors of blood orange, red and black cherry. Over time of ageing, the tertiary aromas become more pronounced, showing more flavors like tobacco and leather that gives extra complexity to the wines.

The 2004 Barolo Vecchia Vigna delle Brunate elevates the experience with a complex interplay of dark fruit, plums, prunes, roasted coffee beans, menthol, and minerals, all woven into a firm, robust structure. This wine displays remarkable intensity, inner fragrance, and an enduring, exceptionally refined finish.

The Woori Yallock Pinot Noir presents a refined and spicy profile, showcasing notes of red cherries, salted pomegranate, juniper berry, bay leaf, and brine. Phenolics impart a market spice and pepper essence, reminiscent of rolled pastrami. Highly regarded for its intense flavor, mouth-filling fruitiness, and notably fine, almost chewy tannins.

The 2003 Chianti Classico Castello di Fonterutoli exhibits similar green and hard tannins as the standard bottling, but its higher concentration and ripe sweet dark fruit contribute to improved overall balance.

The 2010 Langi Shiraz displays a medium to deep garnet hue with a touch of purple. It presents a vibrant aroma profile characterized by bruised blackberries, black cherries, and subtle notes of red currants, black pepper, spice box, and dried herbs. Medium-bodied and gracefully fruity on the palate, it offers pepper-infused black fruit and baking spice flavors supported by lively acidity and medium, rounded tannins that linger on the long finish.

The Château Nairac 2001 has quite an intense bouquet with dried quince, nougat and hazelnut aromas, slightly more oxidative than its peers and yet still attractive. The palate is well balanced with spicy notes on the entry, well-judged acidity and a lovely marmalade-driven, harmonious finish.
