Domaine de la Roseraie, Beaune La Montee Rouge 2018

The Beaune “La Montée” is made through whole-bunch fermentation, emphasizing infusion with minimal punch down and extraction. Hailing from a youthful vineyard, they exhibit strength and maturity, complemented by fresh, rounded tannins with a touch of wildness. Grown in superficial, stony clay and limestone soils on steep slopes, the grapes undergo semi-carbonic vatting for a few days followed by pressurisation, fermentation, and ageing for 12 months on lees, with a proportion of 1/8 new oak and 1/3 unique barrel.
