Bourgogne Aligoté 2020 shines with bright floral notes and a touch of warmth, almost nostalgic, with hints of nuts and wax. It’s fuller and richer on the palate, with warm fruit flavors, a touch of orange, and a serious minerality. The wine is precise and elegant, with a gentle tone and mature acidity that lingers.

The “Clos Saint-Jean” appellation is located in the elevated areas of the village of Chassagne-Montrachet, which is better known for its predominantly red wines. Here, Chardonnay vines thrive, producing a wonderfully floral and delicate white wine that is truly sublime. With an average age of around 50 years, these vines bring depth and complexity to the wine. Upon tasting, the wine exhibits liveliness, power, and silkiness. It offers captivating aromas of white flowers and spices, with a dense and floral palate that delights the senses.

The Clos des Epeneaux is among the ten largest monopolies in premier cru or grand cru of the Côte de Beaune and Côte de Nuits, with a unique geology compared to its neighbors. The wines it produces are known for their combination of power and finesse, showcasing the best of Pinot Noir, along with characteristic spicy notes. Vinification involves 100% destemming but non-crushing to preserve whole berries, followed by a three-phase maceration process lasting around 4 weeks to achieve a stable and harmonious structure. Aging occurs for 18 to 24 months in oak barrels, with 30% new oak for the old vines of the Clos des Epeneaux.

Les Perrières is a charming terroir known for producing exceptional white wines. Situated at the summit of the slope, its rocky, shallow soils impart a refreshing, crisp character to the wines. Barrel fermented and aged on its lees for up to 14 months, you can anticipate a luscious wine with hints of spice and cream, along with a rich, opulent texture. However, fret not, as the bright lemony fruit and mineral, saline notes still shine through, maintaining the wine’s vibrancy and complexity.

The Beaune “La Montée” is made through whole-bunch fermentation, emphasizing infusion with minimal punch down and extraction. Hailing from a youthful vineyard, they exhibit strength and maturity, complemented by fresh, rounded tannins with a touch of wildness. Grown in superficial, stony clay and limestone soils on steep slopes, the grapes undergo semi-carbonic vatting for a few days followed by pressurisation, fermentation, and ageing for 12 months on lees, with a proportion of 1/8 new oak and 1/3 unique barrel.

The 2018 Chambolle-Musigny from Domaine des Beaumont exudes lovely fruit aromas of red berries. Fresh on the palate, it emphasizes finesse over power. It reveals a restrained oak influence and well-rounded tannins, indicating its suitability for youthful enjoyment. The fruit presence offers intense pleasure and lingers on the palate.
