The Hauts de Husseau 2021 from Domaine de la Taille Aux Loups is a wine from Montlouis-sur-Loire. These very old vines, aged between 80 and 100 years, are situated at the highest point of the appellation, on soils consisting of clay with flint on the surface and limestone beneath. The notes of dried fruits and a hint of citrus provide a sensation of purity.

The “Expression” cuvée of 2019 comes from beautiful parcels of Cabernet Franc, fully destemmed, vinified, and aged for 6 months in stainless steel tanks. True to its name, it perfectly illustrates the expression of the terroir and the characteristics of the grape variety, resulting in a fine, mineral, and fruity wine. The intense garnet color of the robe illuminates the glass. The bouquet, both subtle and complex, reveals aromas of fresh hay, black and red fruits with hints of mint and licorice. Elegant and smooth, the palate offers a supple texture with very fine tannins. The finish unveils explosive fruit flavors over a striking mineral background.

“Les Coudraies” is a wine with 100% Cabernet Franc. Its evolution in the glass presents us with a rustic romanticism that we adore in Cabernet Franc. Notes of blackcurrant, blackberries, with hints of fresh herbs and black pepper. The palate shows beautiful concentration with particularly silky tannins, a delight.

The “Quintessence d’Altesse” wine undergoes a meticulous production process. After pressing the Altesse grapes as whole clusters, the juice settles with yeast for 24 hours before fermenting and aging in used barrels for a year. With a medium straw-yellow color, the wine reveals an expressive Alpine character on the nose, featuring acacia flowers, jasmine, and warm biscuit dough, alongside ripe yellow fruits and hints of lemon zest, cinnamon, and nutmeg. On the palate, it offers a balanced interplay of ripe yellow fruit sweetness and vibrant acidity, leading to a long, structured, and saline finish.

This Gigondas 2020 is made from 78% Grenache, complemented by 14% Syrah, 6% Cinsault, and 2% Mourvèdre. It thrives in clay-limestone, sandy, and stony soils, offering a yield of 30 hl/ha. It presents an intense purple colour with brilliant reflections and aromas of red (cherry) and black (blackcurrant) fruits, hints of wild herbs, spices (pepper), basil, and a mineral touch, offering refreshing acidity. On the palate, it reveals a generous, powerful, and full-bodied character with fine, silky tannins, showcasing elegance and harmony with a lingering finish.

The Chablis 1er Cru Les Butteaux shows great promise with aromas of fresh bread, citrus oil, beeswax, white flowers, and pear. It’s medium to full-bodied, offering layers of flavor and precision, with a fine mid-palate richness and a saline finish.
