Even though it spent 18 months in French oak, half of which was new, the 2015 Lot 71 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon doesn’t overpower with woodiness. Instead, its concentrated cassis fruit takes center stage, gracefully complemented and structured by its oak aging. While subtle notes of vanilla and cedar linger in the background, this medium to full-bodied wine impresses with supple tannins, accents of sage and bay leaf, and a lingering, refined finish.

Meursault Les Clousots is a blend of two Climats: Meursault Les Clous, situated at the crest of the slopes, and Meursault Les Crotots, positioned just below the premiers crus Porusots. Unlike some, this wine doesn’t see any new oak, focusing instead on showcasing the pure expression of fruit with a delightful texture. The compact, serious palate is balanced and remarkably long, driven by a firm core of ripe acidity.

Piuze’s Chablis 1er Cru Vaillons Les Minots shows the aromas of pear, honeycomb, and dried white flowers. This medium to full-bodied wine is fleshy and charming, with a seamless and enveloping texture, making it highly appealing even in its youth.

With a medium ruby-purple colour, the 2018 Pinot Noir Estate Vineyard offers intense aromas of spicy blackberries, tar, and earthy undertones. On the palate, it’s medium-bodied, displaying firmness, freshness, and earthy flavors. While it feels a bit reserved at present, its potential suggests it may merit a higher score as it continues to develop.

With its classic aromas of tea leaves, tar, and earth complemented by red and black berry fruits, the 2018 Pinot Noir Willamette Valley offers a captivating bouquet. On the palate, it’s medium-bodied, silky, and fresh, showcasing ripe earthy fruits and a lifted finish.
